Mark Heibel, M.D., was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is a graduate of Lincoln Pius X Central High School. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Creighton University he attended the Creighton University School of Medicine. There he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Doctor of Medicine.
Following his graduation, he trained in dermatology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. After successfully completing certification by the American Board of Dermatology, he served as Chief of Dermatology at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, prior to returning to Lincoln to enter private practice in 1996.
Dr. Heibel is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He practices general dermatology, treating all diseases of the hair, skin, nails, and mucous membranes, but has a special interest in treating skin cancer, with extensive experience in Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of cutaneous malignancy.
